RGIS Mid-South University of Arkansas

NWA Imagery Viewer

In 2005, the RGIS Mid-South Office staff assisted the Northwest Regional Planning Commission, Local Counties and Cities in a collaborative effort to acquire high resolution aerial imagery (12 in. resolution, true-color). This Imagery Cost Sharing project and the resulting data have has been very successful and has saved local tax payers hundreds of thousands of dollars.  These data have also been loaded into Arkansas' GeoSpatial Data Distribution System, GeoStor (www.geostor.arkansas.gov), and can be downloaded at full resolution for no fee.

The RGIS-Mid-South office and other members of the NWA Imagery Task Force continue to be flooded with requests for these and other miscellaneous imagery products that have been collected within Northwest Arkansas. In order to improve access to this data, the RGIS-Mid-South office developed an online imagery data viewer in 2004 that provided access to the original 2004 Aerial Photography plus a collection of historical imagery of the Fayetteville area (1926, 1944; 1966). Data downloads or specialized software are not required!
